Privacy and cookies

CEMeNt runs this site to publish meteor observations. We measure how it is used so we know which pages are worth maintaining. We do not sell data and run no ad tracking. The one promotion on the site, for Muzeum meteoritů, is a plain link that sets no cookies.

What we measure

Visits are counted with Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-L6D74XPNXW), loaded through Google Tag Manager (container GTM-MWF7NHJZ). It records the pages you open, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device and browser you use. It does not record your name, your address or anything you type.

Only if you agree

In the EU, the wider EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics stays switched off until you accept: Google sets no cookies and cannot recognise you across visits, and we see only an anonymous count. Elsewhere it starts switched on, and the same banner turns it off. Whichever way you answer, the site works exactly the same.

Your choice, and changing it

Your answer is kept in a cookie on your device for six months, and on our servers not at all. It never leaves your browser. After six months the banner asks again — refusals and acceptances expire alike — and clearing your browser data resets it immediately.

Android beta program

If you join the Android beta program, we store the email address you give us, the language you signed up in, the apps you chose, when you confirmed, were added and left, and a log of the program emails we sent you (which email, when, and whether sending succeeded, but not its content). We use it only to add you to the test in Google Play and to email you about the program. We do not store your name, your IP address or anything about your device.

The data is kept by Cloudflare in the European Union, and our emails are sent through Resend. To give you access, we upload your address to Google Play Console. The signup form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a bot, is sending it; it is not used to identify or track you.

A signup you never confirm is deleted after 7 days. You can leave at any time with the link in every program email, and once Google Play no longer lists you, your data is deleted. To have it deleted straight away, reply to any program email.
