H-NGC6755
Open Cluster in Aquila

About
A large, loose open cluster in Aquila, about 15′ across and magnitude 7.5, set against a dense Milky Way star field. Sources disagree on its distance, giving 4,900 to 8,060 light-years, and put its age near 250 million years. It is in the Herschel 400.
Imaging tips
- At 1620–2690 mm on APS-C the cluster fills a third to half of the frame.
- The smaller cluster NGC 6756 lies about 30′ to the northeast, so a wider field than the cluster alone is needed to take in both.
- One imager collected 5 hours 24 minutes in LRGB, with luminance as 42 two-minute subs and 12 each in colour. Czernik 39 lies to the cluster's north.
- Best in June and July; it peaks near 44° altitude from 50°N.
