Open Cluster in Canis Major

About
In Canis Major, a young cluster that one imager's page puts at about 8,000 light-years. Its stars include seven supergiants, both blue and red, and it has low metal content.
Imaging tips
- No nebulosity lies behind it, so broadband colour fits; one imager still added a 4 nm Hα filter to LRGB, under Bortle 8 skies.
- 2,020–3,370 mm on APS-C or 3,090–5,160 mm on full frame fits a 12′ cluster.
- Best in December and January; it peaks near 27° altitude from 50°N.
