Open Cluster in Triangulum Australe

About
A loose open cluster on the border of Triangulum Australe and Norma, about 2,410 light-years away. Lacaille found it in 1751. It holds seven known spectroscopic binaries, and its brightest member is a blue straggler of magnitude 7.1.
Imaging tips
- Sources give 10–15′ across; at 2420–4040 mm on APS-C (3710–6190 mm full frame) 10′ spans a third to half of the frame, so leave a margin for the larger figures.
- Broadband colour suits a cluster at 19.2 mag/arcsec². The brightest stars are around 7th magnitude, with a dozen brighter than 10th.
- Only faint galaxies lie nearby, all fainter than magnitude 15, so they need deep data to show.
- Never rises from 50°N or 35°N (peaks near −20° and −5°). From the south it is best around May and June.
