Reflection Nebula in Orion

About
A small reflection nebula in Orion, lit by the B8V star HD 36471 (magnitude 8.70). Its parallax puts it at about 1,100 light-years, in the same part of the Orion Arm as the large Orion molecular clouds.
Imaging tips
- About 4′ across, so it is too small to frame: use a long focal length and a fine pixel scale.
- It lies about 20′ east-north-east of 32 Orionis, the brightest star in one wide frame of it.
- Broadband suits it; one imager used 200 min of LRGB (5 × 10 min per channel).
- Best around November and December; it stays below about 46° altitude from 50°N.
