Reflection Nebula in Aries

About
A small reflection nebula in Aries, about 4′ across, at the position of the B8V star BD+30 540, which is about 9th magnitude. The star's parallax puts it about 960 light-years away.
Imaging tips
- Only about 4′ across, so it is too small to frame: use a long focal length and a fine pixel scale.
- Reflection nebulae need broadband; skip narrowband filters.
- Best in October and November, peaking near 71° altitude from 50°N and near 86° from 35°N.
- One imager worked with a Newtonian and a monochrome CCD, taking 52 luminance subs of 12 minutes plus 14 subs of 12 minutes in each of red, green and blue.
- That imager's field was about 45′ wide.
