Arp86
Galaxy in Pegasus

About
NGC 7753, a large barred spiral in Pegasus, with the small companion NGC 7752 that looks attached to one of its arms. Estimates run from about 220 to 270 million light-years. Hubble's team expects NGC 7752 to be either flung out or swallowed by its larger neighbour.
Imaging tips
- NGC 7753 measures about 3.3′ × 2.1′ and its companion 0.8′ × 0.5′, so the pair is too small to frame: use a long focal length and a fine pixel scale.
- One remote imager stacked 13 × 600 s unfiltered frames at 1.2″ per pixel.
- Surface brightness is 23 mag/arcsec², so plan many hours of broadband data.
- Best from August to October, peaking near 70° altitude from 50°N.
