Galaxy in Aquarius

About
MCG -01-60-021, a galaxy in Aquarius that SIMBAD lists with a LINER-type active nucleus. It carries the catalogue number VV 34 and is Arp 295 in Halton Arp's atlas, which put it among "Double or multiple galaxies with long filaments".
Imaging tips
- Too small to frame at about 3×2′: it needs a long focal length and a fine pixel scale.
- Faint for its size at 23.4 mag/arcsec², so plan many hours of broadband data.
- One imager gathered 9 h 10 min in LRGB: 6 h 10 min of luminance and 1 h each of red, green and blue, in a field about 37.5′ wide that also held IC 1505.
- Best from August to October; it stays below 37° altitude from 50°N.
